The Plan Commission approved a final site plan and architectural review for Culver's at 840 West Sunset Drive to add a second drive-through lane, a new canopy on the west side of the building and interior remodeling. Staff noted the project includes repaving and restriping of the parking lot and new signage; approval was conditioned on addressing engineering, fire department and water-utility comments and obtaining sign permits.
Fred Coles, the owner representing the site, told the commission the lot will be "brand new" with repaving and restriping and said the goal is to speed order throughput: "The goal is to be able to take orders faster because we will always have both lanes open," he said. Commissioners and Alderman Dan Manion discussed traffic patterns and previous intersection changes; the commission approved the plan subject to standard staff conditions.
