Superintendent Pete Peterson told the board the district has lost some bus drivers and that temporary measures are already in place to maintain routes. He described the possibility of adopting two-run bus schedules rather than expanding the walk zone, saying he was "not interested in stretching out the walk zone." He also said staff are working to obtain commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) to support routes when needed.
Mr. Peterson said he expects to present preliminary route and school-start-time numbers for the 2026–27 school year by the December meeting, giving trustees time to review options before final decisions. The board did not adopt any formal changes Nov. 10; staff follow-up and numbers were requested.
