Superintendent Pete Peterson described differences between the district's current 2409 Credit for Competency – Proficiency language and the Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA) model policy. He told the board that neither of the two policies discussed that evening required immediate board approval and recommended adopting the whole slate of updated policies.
"Mr. Peterson explained that nether of the two policies that are being discussed tonight will need approval," the minutes record. He asked the board to consider how it preferred to proceed and whether to keep items separated or consolidated; Director Teddy Bryan asked why the policies could not be combined into one document, and Peterson replied that combining them would be "too many in one policy."
