City announces open houses and urges support for businesses affected by Cedar Lake Road construction

Communications staff (Kim) announced several upcoming community events: a pavement management open house for 2027 projects on July 23 at 5:30 p.m.; Skate-a-Palooza on July 22 at 5:00 p.m. at Carpenter Park; and a Penny Carnival at The Rock on July 24 from noon to 2 p.m. Kim noted packet links contain more information.
Separately, a council member reported on major construction at Cedar Lake Road and Louisiana (installation of a roundabout) and said the work has disrupted access for about 13–14 small businesses plus Walgreens. The council member encouraged residents to patronize those businesses and noted a Westwood Mall event on Aug. 8 to support local merchants.
