Whiteford board records staff resignations and approves multiple coaching and program hires

Superintendent Scott L. Huard reported multiple staff departures: Sharon Van Loocke resigned from musical assistant director roles (will remain as a substitute), Jeremy Fielder resigned as MS/HS Principal effective July 31 to accept a secondary ELA teaching position at Clinton Community Schools, Misti Burtscher resigned as summer worker and Special Program bus driver effective July 6, and Tim Hildebrand resigned as full‑time maintenance effective July 16 to accept work with Local 671.
Following those announcements the board approved a slate of hires and stipended positions: Lainey Hillard (HS Spring Musical Asst. Director 2%), Maria Mohler (HS Spring Musical Director 6% and Elementary Musical Director 2%), Charlie Nykiel (HS Spring Musical Music Director 4%), Ben Avis (Freshman Class Advisor 1%), Darel Middaugh (Elementary Spring Musical Assistant Director 1%), Claire Huard (summer worker at $16.08/hour through Sept. 1), Mya Hoberg (assistant varsity sideline and competitive cheer coach, $2,000 each), Brandy Shillinger (middle school sideline and competitive cheer coach, $2,000 each), Owen Plum (7th grade men's basketball coach, $2,000 stipend), Nina Bauman (LRE paraprofessional), and Cody Spotts (athletic trainer at $60,000, one-year contract). Each hire was contingent on favorable prior employer conduct and FBI/State of Michigan background checks where stated; all motions carried 6–0 (1 absent).
