Saint Louis Park’s "Rolling at the ROC" receives MRPA Award of Excellence

Jamie Neltner of the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association presented a 2025 Award of Excellence to Saint Louis Park for the city’s "Rolling at the ROC" program, noting the program was nominated and selected by MRPA as a top scoring submission. Neltner said the program used a Hennepin County youth activities grant to buy 80 pairs of roller skates and offered sessions twice a month for $5, which included admission and rental.
Heidi Batistich, identified in the meeting as the city’s recreation and facility supervisor, accepted the award and thanked program partner Twin Cities Skaters for providing free lessons. "All this makes roller skating welcoming and affordable for all ages," Neltner said. Council members offered brief thanks to staff and the award leads.
