During the Feb. 25 meeting the board moved through multiple policy readings. The second reading of Policy 4215 (Use of Tobacco, Nicotine Products and Delivery Devices) was approved by motion 24/25-34 (moved by Amanda Miller; seconded by Dorri Oldham) and recorded as carried unanimously.
The board also completed first readings and approved for further consideration: Policy 3207 and Procedure 3207P (Prohibition of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying of Students) by motion 24/25-35 (moved by Dorri Oldham; seconded by Eric Lindberg); Policy 4130 and Procedure 4130P (Title I, Part A Parent and Family Engagement) by motion 24/25-36 (moved by Eric Lindberg; seconded by Amanda Miller); Policy 3210 and Procedure 3210P (Nondiscrimination — Students) by motion 24/25-37 (moved by Amanda Miller; seconded by Dorri Oldham), where the board expressed a desire to retain some previously-struck language describing equal opportunity; and Policy 5010 and Procedure 5010P (Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action — Personnel) by motion 24/25-38 (moved by Eric Lindberg; seconded by Dorri Oldham), for which the board requested feedback from HR and legal on proposed updates.
All motions were recorded as carried unanimously. The minutes do not include substantive debate text for the policies beyond the board’s requests for specific retained language and the request for HR/legal review on Policy 5010.
