La Center board cites strong levy support, highlights schools and athletics in State of the District

The La Center School District Board heard a State of the District update on Feb. 25 in which Superintendent Peter Rosenkranz highlighted strong community backing for the district levy and recent school activities. "At 59.4% our district had the highest support in the county," Rosenkranz said, thanking voters and volunteers for their involvement.
Rosenkranz noted community volunteer efforts on campus art projects, including elementary paw-print painting and an upcoming middle-school mural, and reported a successful tabletop emergency exercise with police and fire. Athletic director/administrator Matt Cooke reported student athletic successes: the wrestling team placed seventh overall at state with three individual placings — Isaac Chromey (175-pound state champion), Tyson Grove (6th at 215), and Wyatt Eiesland (2nd at 285) — and the boys basketball team had qualified to play in Wenatchee the following weekend.
The update combined community engagement, school culture and extracurricular achievement as indicators of district momentum. The board used the evening to celebrate those accomplishments and to recognize volunteers and booster contributions that supported expanded extracurricular opportunities.
