The Livingston Parish School Board voted to ratify the recommendation from Coleman Partners Architects to move forward with EPIC Paving for the Denham Springs High School parking-lot project. Jeff Lerosa of Coleman Partners presented the bid results and explained the low bidder retracted within the allowed time for a mathematical error, leaving EPIC as the next qualified bidder.
Jeff Lerosa told the board the contractor “submitted a base bid of $865,003.95 and then an alternate number 1 of 72,500,” and recommended accepting both the base bid and alternate. The board approved the motion by voice vote. Lerosa described scope work including demolition of roughly half the existing asphalt, replacement with new base and concrete in the rear area, and an alternate to add three light poles for evening lighting.
