Committee forwards multiple department budgets, approves payments for treasurer, recorder and GIS
Summary
On July 21 the committee voted to forward several departmental budgets (including funds 18, 40, 50, 27 and grant fund 45) to finance and approved motions to pay department bills; an amendment on mileage was briefly proposed then withdrawn.
The Taxing Taxes Election GIS Committee approved a set of departmental budgets and authorized payment of departmental bills during its July 21 meeting.
The committee approved a bundled motion to forward budgets for department funds (including fund 50, fund 40, fund 27, the records fund and grant fund 45) to finance on a roll call vote in which all present voted aye. Chair called the motion "Motion by mister Bailey, 2nd by miss Bernal," and roll call recorded unanimous support.
Earlier in the meeting a member proposed an amendment to the general fund approval to account for a recent IRS mileage-rate change; that amendment was withdrawn before the final vote after members discussed the potential budgetary impact and asked staff to re-run projections at the higher mileage rate.
The committee also voted to place the treasurer's, recorder's and GIS reports on file and approved payment of their bills by voice vote.
The votes taken were procedural approvals to forward budgets to the finance office and to pay routine departmental bills; no new taxes or policy changes were enacted at the meeting.
