KIONA-BENTON CITY — The Kiona-Benton City School District Board approved revisions to Policy 2409 (World Language Mastery-Based Credit) on Oct. 27 but recorded that legal review is still needed before final implementation.
Superintendent Pete Peterson told the board this was the first attempt to align the policy's numeric values with Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA) guidance and said he is "waiting legal clarification on a few things" and will return the item to the board if needed. Director Dan Raap moved to approve the revisions and Director Gina Warner seconded; the board approved the motion by a 4–0 vote.
The board approved the policy language as presented but directed staff to seek the outstanding legal clarifications before final administrative application.
