KIONA-BENTON CITY — The Kiona-Benton City School District Board voted unanimously Oct. 27 to approve revisions to Policy 3241 (Student Discipline) to align the district policy with statutory requirements.
Superintendent Pete Peterson told the board the revisions are legally required and include adjustments to how long-term suspensions and expulsions are handled. Peterson said the updated language clarifies that such disciplinary measures "are not allowed to be carried over unless it is recommended by the Superintendent." Director Gina Warner moved to adopt the revisions and Director Teddy Bryan seconded; the motion passed 4–0.
The revisions were presented under Unfinished Business and the board did not record any amendments at the meeting. The item will be incorporated into the district policy manual per the board's approval.
