Director Gina Warner was elected board chair of the Kiona-Benton City School District No. 52 Board on Dec. 8, 2025, following a roll-call nomination and vote during the board’s regular meeting. The nomination was made by Director Teddy Bryan and seconded by Director Mike Peterson; the chair vote recorded Warner as abstaining with three yes votes and one abstention, Director Dan Raap was absent.
The board also elected Director Danielle Harvey as vice chair (nominated by Director Mike Peterson and seconded by Director Teddy Bryan), with a 3–1 roll call (Harvey abstained). In related appointments, the board named a WIAA representative and a legislative representative during the same series of nominations and roll-call votes; those positions were filled with similar 3–1 tallies and the same absence noted. The meeting minutes record the nominations and roll-call outcomes but do not show further debate.
The leadership votes follow the board’s organizational process for assigning chair, vice chair and representative duties ahead of the 2026 calendar. Director Josh Skipper, immediate past chair, received a plaque from Superintendent Pete Peterson in recognition of his service. The board adjourned to an executive session later in the evening and took no further public action on leadership matters that night.
