Perez told the board that discussions with BCAEO and state legislators resulted in an agreement capping Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding reductions at 7 percent; one-time discretionary funds will also be used to reduce the financial burden in the first fiscal year of the change. Perez highlighted Community Action Month activities, recent media appearances, a ribbon-cutting in the Village of Sparta, Legislative Day 2026, and the Spring into Action Luncheon scheduled for May 28, 2026.
Staffing items were noted alongside program outcomes: two Weatherization Rehabilitation Specialist positions are open and Jon Tovar-Campos was promoted to Housing Project Supervisor from the weatherization team. Perez and staff said monitoring results for organizational standards (2024–2025) are expected within a couple of weeks and will be shared with the board.
