The Kent County Community Action (KCCA) Advisory Governing Board unanimously approved the February 2, 2026 meeting minutes and adopted a Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) Background Check Policy during its May 21, 2026 meeting.
Samarhia Giffel moved to approve the minutes with support from James Geisen; the motion "carried unanimously." Later in the agenda Chad Coffman, Community Development Program Manager, presented the WAP Background Check Policy. Samarhia Giffel moved to approve the policy with support from Kim Moore; that motion also carried unanimously.
Board members present at the time of the votes included Daniel VanderMolen (Chairperson) and a quorum of members. The meeting record does not list individual roll-call vote tallies beyond the unanimous outcome. The actions were recorded as formal motions and entered into the meeting minutes. The next Advisory Governing Board meeting is scheduled for July 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
