The Sioux Rapids City Council approved administrative changes on Jan. 14 to add Mayor Mike Katschman as signature authority at Community State Bank and IPAIT, remove Jim Wise as a signatory, and authorize Andrew Wetrich to open the city’s safety deposit box. The motions were made and seconded by council members and passed unanimously.
Council scheduled its first budget workshop for Jan. 28 at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall and discussed several operational matters including preparations to open the municipal pool for summer (leak detection and pool-house repairs) and potential sealed-bid sales for surplus equipment such as the old orange truck, lawn mower and road grader. Council agreed to present a resolution next month to authorize the surplus sale process.
