In the meeting’s closing segment, staff liaison Odra Cardenas briefed the commission on recent council activity: Cascade Water Alliance materials are posted online, Plymouth Housing received a Vision 2050 award, council adopted temporary noncommercial science regulations with no permit requirements at present, and the drone-port moratorium remains unchanged. Cardenas also reminded commissioners the Let’s Connect questionnaire closes July 31 and the next commission meeting is Aug. 12.
Long Range Planning Manager Jeff Churchill said the commission will be supported by two interns from Western Washington University for late summer and early fall: Sarah Quillentang (already started) and Christopher Gaffney (starting Aug. 3), who will contribute to early work on the urban mixed-use zone master planning. The meeting adjourned by voice vote.
