Summit County staff: Wright Ranch sale complete as OSAC funding draws down

Jess Kirby, a Summit County staff member, told the Open Space Advisory Committee on Oct. 1 that Summit Lands Conservancy closed on Wright Ranch last month and that the sale represented the committee’s fourth OSAC contribution.
"I just wanted to make sure everybody is aware that we just closed, thanks to the folks in the room, at the end of your table, Summit Lands Conservancy that the Wright Ranch closed last month. So that was our 4th OSAC contribution. So yay to that," Kirby said, adding she was calling in while sick and did not have her full numbers ready.
Kirby said some OSAC funding is earmarked for properties currently under discussion and that interest from other ranch accounts is being applied to those allocations. She told the committee they were "whittling down the 50,000,000," and said, "we're very quickly running out of money." The transcript did not specify the currency or units for the figure "50,000,000," and Kirby said she would provide more detailed financial figures at a future meeting once recovered.
The committee did not take a formal funding vote in the Oct. 1 session; Kirby said additional updates and a clearer line-item presentation are forthcoming at the next meeting. The remarks came during standard staff comments and followed roll call and procedural business.
