On Jan. 14 the Sioux Rapids City Council approved four resolutions and authorized multiple payments tied to city projects and operations. Resolutions approved included No. 915 (renew Section 125 Flex Plan), No. 916 (IRS mileage reimbursement), and No. 917 (depositories), each passing by roll call with Garberding, Gunderson and Thompson voting aye. Council later approved Resolution No. 918, accepting Change Order No. 1 for the Sioux Rapids Health Clinic Project; that action was moved by Mike Gunderson and seconded by Kevin Thompson.
The meeting also authorized several vendor disbursements listed in the claims, notably $80,000 to the Buena Vista County Sheriff for police protection, $4,833.79 as the final tanker loan payment to the Sioux Rapids Fire Protection Agency, and $20,282.35 to Central Tax-Exempt Investment LLC for a water meter loan. Council approved these payments by individual motions during the meeting.
