Board declines proposed increase to trustees’ stipend

Chair (the presiding official) called for the vote and members responded "Aye," ending discussion. The board’s current stipend remains $2,000 per year; the proposal under consideration would have set a maximum annual amount equivalent to 10% of the district’s lowest starting teacher salary (presented in the proposal as $4,400).
Supporters of keeping the stipend unchanged spoke during the discussion, and the board adopted the denial by voice vote. There was no roll-call tally recorded in the minutes presented at the meeting.
The action concluded without further amendment. The board proceeded to other routine appointments and budget items following the vote.
