A staff member opened the meeting of the Smith-Green Community Schools board on Aug. 18 by highlighting staff accomplishments and community partnerships as the district begins the school year.
The staff member praised teachers and administrators for recent professional learning and singled out Miss Thomas for running new-teacher orientation and a leadership summit. “Her hard work has been very impressive and very much appreciated,” the staff member said. The board was also told that local artist displays coordinated with Mrs. Sapp will be placed in school hallways.
The remarks noted operational preparations ahead of the academic year, including new programming and STEM lab activities. The staff member encouraged community members to visit classrooms to see the new work and thanked custodial and transportation staff for summer preparations.
