Community group urges Tomball to explore options to save Texas Sports Medicine Center

Peter Gursky, speaking on behalf of center members, reported reductions in hours and services and maintenance problems and said that final decisions appear to be controlled at corporate headquarters outside Texas.
"We cannot stand by and let a beloved local institution disappear," Gursky told council. He proposed that the city explore options including establishing a local nonprofit to operate the facility, negotiating a donation of the building, or partnering with the Tomball Regional Health Foundation to access local philanthropic assets to stabilize operations.
Council thanked the commenter; no immediate council action was taken, but staff acknowledged the request and the need to gather more information on ownership, operating feasibility and financial implications before any municipal involvement.
