The Sandy Beach Commission approved the 2026 swim lesson schedule at its April 30 special meeting. The commission set Session One for June 29–July 10, Session Two for July 13–July 24, and Session Three for August 3–August 14. The beach is scheduled to open on Saturday, May 23 for weekends only through June 14 and to open seven days per week beginning June 20.
Commissioners said the final 2026 schedule will be announced at the May 21 meeting after the Beach Manager has been hired. The scheduling decision was recorded in the meeting minutes; no vote tally or mover/second for the approval was recorded in the public minutes.
