Selectman Shane Beattie reported to the board that he responded to a high‑water alarm at Town Hall and found water entering the basement through a Mechanic Street wall.
Beattie urged the board to identify revenue to investigate the source of the leak, consider excavation if the source cannot be found, and, if necessary, install a pit with larger sump pumps. He also recommended the town purchase a 3‑inch trash pump to assist with similar incidents. The board agreed to research costs and options.
The matter was discussed during Select Board member reports; no formal appropriation or contract award was approved at the March 16 meeting.
