First Selectman Norman Needleman told the Capital Committee that the fire department needs to provide more definitive cost estimates for several projects, including roof work, the gas Covault/parking-lot scope, HVAC upgrades and repairs, and a water tanker purchase. He also said upgrades to a bathroom and the fire-department gym (housed in a separate building on the property) are planned.
Needleman requested that a representative from the fire department attend the August 24, 2026 Capital Committee meeting to present project figures and answer technical questions so the committee can evaluate inclusion in the capital/bond package.
