Committee affirms Essex Elementary capital project list including generator and HVAC work

The Essex Capital Committee reviewed the submitted capital projects list for Essex Elementary School at its July 20 meeting at Town Hall. Chair Bruce Glowac asked whether the list presented by Tom Fitzgerald was accurate; Finance Director of Regional School District #4 Bob Grissom said there were no changes to the list.
The projects on the list include a backup generator, replacement air handlers, gym window replacement, and exterior door-frame replacements. Committee members did not propose any additions or deletions during the review and directed staff to retain the items on the capital list as presented.
The item remains on the overall $10 million bond request under consideration for referendum. Next steps are final plan refinement as needed and inclusion of the school projects in the bond package that is expected to be presented to voters if the referendum moves forward.
