The council heard routine department reports at its July 13 meeting. The sheriff’s/emergency management report recorded 48.2 patrol hours, 15 traffic stops and 15 calls during June. The city’s sewer report for June was submitted and reported as having no issues.
Fire/Rescue reported receipt of a new radio and that the old ambulance is being prepared for sale. Library minutes were submitted and staff installed a new windbreak at the library entrance. Tourism/Gateway staff noted that a Madison County Chamber coffee is planned for Aug. 28 at the Gateway and that final preparations for Old Settlers are underway.
