St. Charles will absorb Waste Management's 9.8% fuel surcharge for six months

Councilmember Gyles moved for the city to cover the surcharge, and Councilmember Tracy Kozak seconded; the motion passed unanimously. Council members indicated that if the fuel surcharge is applied beyond the initial six months, the city will consider passing the additional cost on to residents and businesses at that time.
