The board considered a revised stopping, standing and parking ordinance that would allow officers to issue vehicle violations, update fine schedules, and authorize towing. Resident Melissa Grella called the category "other violations" ambiguous and raised concerns about daytime Main Street parking by tenants of nearby apartment buildings; Land Use Coordinator Robin Irving noted repurposed buildings that used federal funds were subject to planning-board restrictions in leases that the town cannot directly enforce.
Selectman Leon Rideout moved and Selectman Kathy-Jean Lavoie seconded approval of the parking ordinance as presented, with a stipulation that the town continue to work on Main Street parking solutions and clarify whether wheel-placement language should reference the curb or the edge of the roadway. The motion carried unanimously.
