The largest single addition was the Stryker power cot loading system, which was originally quoted at $43,000 but negotiated down to $33,000 through direct purchase and separate installation.
Amanda Curry said manual patient lifts regularly exceeded 500 pounds and had caused back injuries among crew members, and she said the power loading system would reduce injuries and reliance on outside assistance for heavy lifts. The council unanimously approved Change Order #1 for the ambulance remount.
