Staff say lead test 'positive hits' concentrated at end-of-line fixtures

Facilities staff reported results from water sampling that identified several isolated "positive hits" for lead concentrated at end-of-line fixtures and unused sinks across the site.
"I had 17 positive hits down there. And, I will tell you that I believe that the positive hits are at the end of the line where the water sits," Brian said, describing that samples taken after flushing the line produced passing results while stagnant fixtures tended to test positive.
Staff explained they are following through with additional flushing and targeted replacement or remediation of fixtures where persistent positives are found. They said showers and many common fixtures passed testing when water was run prior to sampling. No formal remediation contract was approved at the meeting; staff will return with further testing results and recommended fixes.
