“We have, like, 850 bulbs, in this building, and they will, refund us, like, $7,000,” Brian said. He described a vendor price estimate and a route the district could take using a state- or Graybar-preferred contract instead of conducting a separate competitive bid process.
Board members asked whether the work should be bundled with a larger future replacement. Brian cautioned about timing: “My concern is how long will we be able to get those bulbs?” and noted the rebate ends in September. The group discussed the trade-off between retrofitting the existing fixtures now and planning for a full replacement in a future bond project.
Staff said they will gather a verified fixture count, confirm whether the Oregon Electric Group estimate is a state contract price or an initial estimate, and return with clear bids and a recommendation. No formal action was taken; the item remains an information request for future agenda consideration.
