Carlin approves expenditures after coding corrections; city honors retiring public works supervisor

Council approved the city's expenditures between Oct. 24 and Nov. 13, 2024, after City Clerk Melinda Harris said she would correct three accounting errors where office supplies had been coded to senior center food budgets. Councilmember Lyndsie Whigham moved to approve the expenditures with the noted corrections; Denise Taylor seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
During public comments Vice Mayor Margaret Johnston recognized Public Works Supervisor Clay Johnson for 16.5 years of service, mentioning his oversight of projects including the 2018 water tower replacement. Joe Massa said, "Clay deserves at least one round of appreciation from everybody in this town." Resident David Peck also praised the city's recent progress and community achievements; the council adjourned at 7:01 p.m.
