District reports Division 22 compliance; readies educational equity advisory committee

At the meeting Heidi walked the board through Division 22 standards from the Oregon Department of Education and reported that the district is currently marked in compliance for required areas after addressing prior gaps.

Heidi said two standards remain on statewide waiver through February 2028 related to essential‑skills assessment for graduation and for English‑language learners, but that the district is meeting many standards including social‑emotional learning implementation using the Wayfinder curriculum. She also told the board that the district now contracts to have a registered nurse on site (one full day every two weeks) at a cost of about $17,000 annually to meet health‑service requirements.

In addition, Heidi described a new state requirement to convene an educational equity advisory committee composed of parents, employees, students and community members. The district held an initial meeting and plans quarterly meetings to review state report‑card data and disaggregated metrics; the committee is to be convened by Sept. 15, 2025 under the revised rule language described to the board.
