Tamworth nurse association seeks $70,000 to expand home and community care

Julie Lanoie, representing the Tamworth Community Nurse Association, asked the Select Board for $70,000 to expand the group’s capacity for direct nursing services, medical case management and caregiving coaching. Lanoie said TCNA recorded 2,164 health visits in 2025 and a 47% increase in local residents using nursing services — 133 more people than the prior year.
Select Board member Lianne Prentice praised the increase in services and the supporting data, saying, "if this is a buy-back credit, then it should go directly to the library to offset the utility bill" in an earlier discussion about library credits; Prentice also gave credit to TCNA’s expanded work. The board discussed the request; no final funding decision was recorded at the meeting. The petition will be considered at the upcoming Budget Hearing on Feb. 10, 2026.
