Board moves to submit integrated guidance application after public review

S5, a district staff member, presented the integrated guidance plan and budget priorities and asked the board to approve the plan for submission to the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). "We are now planning for our 2527, integrated guidance application," S5 said, describing the consolidation of nine previously separate programs into one application and the district's community engagement work on the needs assessment.
S5 summarized program findings and proposed spending priorities, including continued funding for a counselor, literacy interventionist and CTE staffing. The presentation noted recent district gains (an 8% improvement in attendance and a 17% increase in 8th-grade math on local measures) and flagged ongoing achievement gaps for students experiencing poverty and students with disabilities. Chair (S2) called the motion to accept the plan; after a second the board voted in favor and the motion carried. The district will submit the plan to ODE for review and, if approved, return with a grant agreement for the board to sign.
