Superintendent Eric Anderson described the spring extra‑duty hires and the coaching plan: new co‑head high‑school track coaches and junior high coaches plus returning coaches for golf. On hiring he said he was pleased with the candidates and that the budgeted extra‑duty stipends would be used as outlined. A motion to hire the spring extra‑duty positions passed by voice vote.
The board also approved a two‑year softball cooperative and formation of a track collective with Dallas High so Dufur students can practice with more coaches and access event‑specific expertise while wearing Dufur uniforms and retaining 1A competition classification. Superintendent Anderson explained the primary extra cost would be busing to off‑site practices. Finally, because district numbers for baseball are low, the board approved entering a baseball cooperative with Dallas High with the understanding staff will continue outreach to recruit local participants; motions on all athletics items carried.
