"We've got a 152 responses, which is about 20% of the total households," McGuire said, reporting survey counts the council used for analysis: a population base of 1,374 and 780 households. McGuire described the respondents as skewing older and highly homeowners and noted that roughly 59 percent of respondents reported a four-year degree or higher.
The mayor emphasized the council would publish all responses and comments on the city website and that the council could schedule a future meeting for an in-depth public dive once the data are posted. He asked council members to read the comments and flag items they believe warrant formal follow-up or council action.
Resident Elaine Gerard asked how the survey was distributed; McGuire replied the survey was posted to the city web page, was mentioned at public meetings, promoted on the Dune City Facebook page, and the city mailed a postcard to every household through the post office. The council agreed to make the full dataset and verbatim comments available online before any formal policy response.
