Owner ordered to remove disabled vessel; commission seeks diver report for Starship damage claim

Dave said the vessel no longer runs under its own power and staff will follow the ordinance's enforcement steps if the owner does not act.
Separately, commissioners discussed the 'Starship' sinking and damage to finger piers. Trevor said the insurer has questioned the need for certain repairs and requested more detailed inspection information. Dave said the only licensed, insured local diver he knew was Ben White and asked for a diver inspection and repair quote so the insurance adjuster can evaluate the claim.
"The only diver that we have to get in the water that I know for sure that's licensed and insured is Ben White," Dave said. Commissioners asked that the diver provide a written scope and quote to the commission so staff can proceed with the insurance process and any necessary repairs.
