Superintendent: $2.5 million seismic strengthening project planned; city declines Klingler Street abandonment

Superintendent (speaker 12) told the board the district will meet with contractors and stakeholders to develop direction for a planned $2,500,000 seismic strengthening project at Dufur School. "Latest seismic grant...we will be meeting ... in June to develop direction for the next $2,500,000, seismic strengthening project," he said.
The superintendent also reported that talks with the city about abandoning Klingler Street have stalled and the city is no longer interested in pursuing an abandonment; the district will not proceed with paperwork but will explore alternative uses of nearby property, such as temporary buildings or greenhouses, if the city becomes interested in a limited use arrangement.
