"Phase one's gonna cost us $55,000," Chair (speaker 2) said when discussing an initial price estimate for a pared-down first phase. Members said the first phase could avoid the expense of a shipping container by mounting tanks outside and wall-mounting batteries, making the first step less expensive and easier to fund through smaller grants or local allocations.
Committee members discussed later phases: adding an electrolyzer and compressor for on-site hydrogen generation using grid power (Phase 2), extending backup to the community center (Phase 3), and installing renewable generation to produce green hydrogen (Phase 4). The committee agreed to prioritize Phase 1 and to develop a detailed, cost-broken plan that can support future grant applications or city-council funding requests.
