Community group cleared to use Depoe Bay community center for April fundraiser

Springer said he and his wife accepted responsibility for organizing the fundraiser and asked for use of the community center; they proposed April dates and asked for a few days of setup and a day for cleanup. Council and staff checked scheduling conflicts and tentatively confirmed the requested dates (April 18–26 window was discussed and narrowed during the meeting) and agreed the event could use an adjacent parking lot for event parking with a temporary event-parking designation.
Council members encouraged organizers to post schedules and use online outreach to recruit volunteers; organizers said they plan a website and online schedule for volunteer signups. Staff will finalize the reservation and provide guidance on logistics and insurance as required by city policy.
