A council member voiced concern about a $175,000 line in the proposed budget intended to fund a new fire department vehicle, expressing worry that the decision could have negative consequences in future budgets even as the member accepted the immediate need.
"My biggest concern about the proposed budget is that I am concerned that we are dropping a $175,000 out, as a starting to pay for a new vehicle for the fire department. I hope that that 1 doesn't come back to bite us," the member said. Other councilors acknowledged the department heads' work and proceeded to vote on the budget.
