Alyssa told the council Business Oregon received 738 applications requesting almost $300 million for childcare facilities support; notices of intent to award were expected by the first week of December and round two of applications will open in early 2025.
"They got 738 applications, almost 300,000,000, in requests," Alyssa said, describing the volume and range of project types from property acquisition to new construction and planning. She added that awards would span roughly 28 counties based on the applicants received and that the initial round of awards will be announced shortly after notice-of-intent postings.
Members asked that staff share the forthcoming report and slide decks with council members when available so members could see where funds are being requested and how the awards would be distributed.
