Members repeatedly emphasized that findings and success stories presented to the council should be captured and shared more systematically so they do not "go into the ether." Subin and Katie urged a communications approach that distills salient points and distributes them to agency partners and the broader field.
Katie Brooks recommended a simple approach to gather data from businesses and practitioners (citing a prior Central Oregon survey) and suggested holding breakout or focused sessions to generate concrete recommendations. "We could do something like that, gather the data so we understand what the landscape is, and then pick some folks out for this and identify the obstacles," Brooks said.
Staff noted that DELC communications staff have limited capacity and that interagency messaging support or leveraging the Raise Up Oregon implementation team might help share materials more broadly. The council agreed to discuss communications and messaging in December and to explore coordinating with agency communications staff and the implementation/react team.
