The Limington Select Board on July 23 opened and then closed the warrant for a special town meeting scheduled for Aug. 20, 2026, saying the meeting will include an article to select a moderator and an article to consider “a town of Wilmington ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on data centers.”
The chair told attendees the warrant will be posted online and at town hall so residents can review the proposed ordinance before the vote. The board took a voice vote to open and immediately close the warrant during the regular meeting; no substantive debate on the moratorium took place that evening.
The special town meeting is set for Aug. 20, 2026. The board encouraged residents to consult the posted warrant and meeting materials in advance; the chair said the draft is likely already available on the town website.
