The Dufur School District board voted Feb. 3 to adopt Resolution 24‑03, approving the Columbia Gorge Education Service District's (ESD) local service plan for the 2025–26 school year. Dana Peterson of the Columbia Gorge ESD presented the plan and described services the ESD provides to small districts, including shared special‑education staffing, cybersecurity and technology support, a STEM hub, and regional educator networks.
Peterson said local service‑plan funds account for about 24% of the ESD's overall budget and that Dufur's share of the local‑plan allocation among the four primary districts served is about 5.16%. The board moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote; staff will sign the agreement and return it to the ESD.
