District says negotiations progressing; state special-education stipends to reach staff

Crystal, the district business manager, updated the board that negotiations with both certified and classified employee groups are proceeding well on language but that financial discussions remain to be completed. She said the district has not yet reached the finance portion of bargaining but reported progress on wording and other nonfinancial items.
Crystal also said the legislature has released special-education stipend funding that will be distributed to staff. "We have probably 8 staff members who will get a small stipend of a few $100," she said, explaining the funds are intended to recognize work with students who have identified special-education needs.
