City staff seeks sidewalk funds, announces comprehensive plan focus groups

During the community-interest portion of the meeting, city staff announced the city has executed a Safe Streets for All grant agreement that will fund development of a required safety action plan and help make the city eligible for federal sidewalk funds. Staff said the grant totals $130,000 with approximately $104,000 in federal funds and $26,000 in local match.
Staff also announced comprehensive-plan focus groups scheduled for the week: emergency response (tomorrow), economic development and housing (Thursday) and community (Friday), and thanked participants for their input. "This project will help develop a safety action plan, which is required by the Safe Streets for All program," staff said.
