Generations Park planning advances; board considers restrooms, barn stabilization and trail funding

Staff reviewed recent site visits to Generations Park, maps of proposed trails, and prior grant efforts (an LSA application and a DCNR attempt that were not funded). The board discussed options for adding restrooms (a proposed low‑pressure sewer connection to Lisburn Road versus septic), possible capital funding in the upcoming budget, and interim structural work to stabilize the park barn; staff said a local contractor from Lancaster will advise on preserving the barn for possible future event use.

Board members suggested small fundraising ideas (such as paver sales) to offset restroom costs and asked staff to check building insurance and vacancy provisions for the barn. Staff also reported securing a new farmer to mow bird‑nesting windows and noted potential need for a proposed sewer pressure system if restrooms proceed.
